Singles Main Draw Released, Delic Awarded Top Seed

The 2007 JSM Challenger's singles main draw has been released. Defending champion and former Illini, Amer Delic, has been awarded the tournament's top seed and will play a qualifier in the first round. However, Amer coud potentially face Alex Kuznetsov in the second round who is playing in the final in Nashville tonight.

The remaining seeds listed in order from 2 through 8 include Robert Kendrick, Donald Young, Bobby Reynolds, John Isner, Zack Fleishman, Sam Warburg, and Dusan Vemic. For the first time in the history of the tournament, the top five seeds are ranked inside the top 120 in the world. This will make for an extremely competitive draw where any of the top seeds have a strong chance to capture the 2007 JSM Challenger title.

The most intriguing first round match-up will feature two former Illini players: Kevin Anderson and Rajeev Ram. This will be the players' fourth meeting this season and the second in as many weeks. There will also be added pressure as both Kevin and Rajeev had strong results in Champaign in 2006: Kevin reached the quarterfinals while Rajeev bowed out in the semis.

Main draw play begins on Monday, November 12 at 10:00 am. Monday's schedule of play will be released Sunday evening.
