Delic Falls, Rowe Downs Wilson on Day 5

The No. 1 seed and defending champion is out of the 2007 JSM Challenger. After a dismal start to his match, Amer Delic fought back and took qualifier Izak van der Merwe to a third set tie-breaker. However, the South African proved too much and upset Delic, taking the match 6-1, 0-6, 7-6(4).

Ryan Rowe continued his hot streak, downing Brian WIlson in straight sets. Rowe continues to serve well and is playing with a great amount of confidence after his run at the ITA National Indoors college tournament in Columbus, OH. His appearance in the quarterfinals in the JSM Challenger is his best performance at a Challenger level tournament.

In other action, No. 3 seed Donald Young advanced by defeating Rajeev Ram in three sets. Young will take on the No. 8 seed, Dusan Vemic, who took out Leonardo Mayer. On the top half of the draw, the No. 5 seed, John Isner (pictured), earned a hard-fought victory over qualifier, Nikita Kryvonos. He'll face Jesse Levine who is playing with great confidence after winning the singles title in Nashville last week.

First round doubles play concluded on Wednesday with the No. 2 and No. 3 seeded teams moving to round two. Patrick Briaud and David Martin, the No. 2 seeds, will face off against Ryler DeHeart and Izak van der Merwe while Brendan Evans and Scott Lipsky, the No. 3 seeds, will play John Isner and Brian Wilson.
